Born in an artistic family I `ve been drawing and painting since I can hold a pencil or brush. My first revelasion came to me in 1983 when I saw the music video `Hey You` From the Rocksteady Crew wich gave me (being six years old) the idea of putting a big graffiti on the side of our house. My mother told me that it was a good idea but I had to wait until I was 16 years old.
I was always drawing comics at school while listening to my MC Hammer and Vanilla Ice records until I reached High School where I was properly introduced to rap music by my older sisters friends who laughed at my Mc Hammer and Vanilla Ice record....and I can`t blame them for that. Inspired by the early ninties graffiti writers from our city Weert and our neighbor city Roermond I started to draw graffiti letters and characters (mostely to impress the ladies) instead of doing homework. With the beautifull promise from my mother in the back of my mind that I could put a big graffiti on the side of hour house when I`ve reached the age of 16 .... I practiced and practiced on paper, but half a year before my 16th birthday my parents divorced and my mother, sister, lil` brother an me moved to a small rental house where graffiti obviously was not allowed. My plan had failled but would not be forgotten.

In 2000 I joined the Floor Burnin' Crew under the wings of Blaze who learned me the art of breakdancing and introduced me to the Bboy scene and the other three elements of Hiphop. Inspired by the crew and the many Bboy jams I started to spray together with my good friend Bogey under local bridges. My spraying skills sucked and after a year I gave up spraying and focussed on breaking.
In 2007 I was introduced to a local bomber under the name `Grant` who took me to the graffiti Hall of Fame in Eindhoven where we started to practice our spraying skills in collaboration with other writers ...... and that`s when graffiti took a serious part of my life. From 2007 tilll now I am fully concentrated on creating my own recognizable style under my writers name `SAPO`. And when you see me doing graffiti you`ll probably see Blaze and Grant working on the same wall with me.
One day I put a big graffiti on the side of my mothers house........ or maybe one day on yours ;)
